Additional Info: With the love and passion for music, I have always enjoyed playing the piano. I possess perfect pitch (the ability to recognise pitch by ear), and have been playing the piano since I was four.

Having passed my ABRSM Diploma for piano performance with flying colours in 2017, I am now looking for opportunities to give back to the community, through the nurturing and education of talents in the area of piano, regardless of age and current skill level.

In the area of teaching, I would describe myself to be a patient and dedicated music educator who looks out for the strengths and weaknesses in playing. Back when I was the section leader of guitar ensembles for 6 years, I would make my best effort to help my section members understand, through reminders, analogies and recording different parts of given pieces to allow them to make out different parts of the piece more clearly.

Despite being more familiar with the ABRSM syllables that I myself took, I am also open to teach students inclined towards pursuing certification from other exam boards such as Trinity, or even students who would like to play simply for leisure purposes.

I have finished serving two years of NS at the beginning of 2018, and am currently awaiting for matriculation to NUS in August. Nevertheless, I intend to be teaching piano part-time for the longer term, as having personally undergone the journey in music education, I believe in the importance of a student’s long-term experience in music education, that takes time to fulfil and obtain - as much as it takes a teacher dedication to provide a meaningful and worthwhile experience for the student. (It is also the reason I have proposed only time slots that I can commit to in the long term.)

I believe music is a universal language. My philosophy in music education is that there is something unique and special that every individual has to contribute to music in their own way. My aim is, thus, to help every student understand, develop and reach their full musical potential as far as possible, such that play, read, hear, feel and enjoy music, with their own sense of artistic style.

I am hopeful to be able to further extend my passion for music by bringing enlightenment to others too through their eventual acquired abilities to not only make but also appreciate a variety of music.
