As a recipient of American Protégé International Competition's Teacher Recognition Award in 2017 and Charleston International Music Competition Teacher Recognition Award in 2024, Kyungmi Nam is a pianist and educator with an extensive international performing career as well as significant experience in professional music instruction. Celebrated for the clarity and resonance of her tone, the refinement of her phrasing, and the expressive depth of her interpretations, she brings a deep passion for sharing music through her students.

Ms. Nam works with students of diverse ages and backgrounds, providing instruction in both solo piano and chamber music. She splits her time between New York and Colorado, working with her students through in-person lessons in both locations, in addition to online instruction, which enables her to mentor students across regions while maintaining consistent, high-level pedagogical guidance. Her teaching emphasizes healthy foundation, musical understanding, and interpretive depth, tailored to each student’s strengths and goals.
Through her mentorship, Ms. Nam’s students have achieved awards and recognitions across the U.S., in competitions including Charleston International Music Competition, American Protégé Music Talent Competition, Little Mozarts Competition, Crescendo International Competition, and Elite International Competition. Her students have also gained performance opportunities on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Kaufman Center, demonstrating excellence in solo and ensemble repertoire under her guidance.

Dedicated to cultivating the next generation of pianists, Ms. Nam emphasizes both individual artistry and collaborative musicianship. Her teaching fosters expressive interpretation and critical listening, guiding students to develop technique while cultivating their own musical voice for a lifelong connection to music.
