Emma Hakobyan received her undergraduate education at the Tchaikovsky Special Music School for Talented children where she studied with Segey Saradgev. She was excepted to the Yerevan State Conservatory where the admission office decided to enroll her without any tests/exams due to the successfully performances in the International competitions and she was granted a full scholarship, where she completed a Master's degree in piano performance. Hakobyan has moved to USA to continue developing her proficiency. She holds an Performance Diploma from Longy School of Music (Boston, MA).
Emma Hakobyan has taught piano at Longy School of Music, Russian Virtuosos Piano Academy, and PMTAC.
She has been a prizewinner in several competitions national and international, including
“New Names” Special Scholarship, Tchaikovsky First International Competition of Young Musicians special diploma (Moscow, Russia), Amadeus Competition of Young Musical Performers 1st prize and Gold Medal ( Yerevan, Armenia),fourth International Competition of Pianists Grand Prize (Ettlingen, Germany), National Concerto Competition 1st prize ( Yerevan, Armenia).
Hakobyan performed solo recitals in Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Germany, Paris and USA. She appeared in concerts as a soloist with Armenian Symphony Orchestra,
She has been teaching piano performance and theory for the past 10 years
